TCD Course Fall 1999

Agenda

Resource Navigation

Wed Dec. 15

1) Update: Project update from each person/team--I will be looking for the overall structure (student part and teacher part) to your project that has been provided in class.

2) Alignment:

Your project should show its alignment with:

  • IL Learning Standards
  • Standards of an appropriate external accrediting agency (such as NATEF, etc)
  • TCD School Improvement Goal Number 1 (our discussion last time about lower level and higher level learning objectives)

3) Websites: Those who have not yet shared with the group, be prepared to do so. Each person should have his/her own website. It might be minimal (provide basic information) then, as a major information source, it will link to your program website. The intent of this activity is that at a minimum, each person has a website and, in addition, there is a website for your program as well.

4) Technology competency

Please make explicit in your project what particular competencies students will need to succeed. Recall the ones referenced in this course:

  • The Internet (including e-mail and drag and drop capabilities)
  • Word processing
  • Spreadsheets
  • Databases
  • Multi-media (video, powerpoint, etc.)
  • Calculator or computer-based labs

5) A data exploration activity--if there is time.
