I have had a couple of inquiries about assignments, etc. That's good.
Please keep those questions coming in.
1) Journal entry for next week.
Some of you have noted that there is no journal entry assigned for next
week. However, you are always welcome to turn in journal entries...if you
do one for next week, on a topic of your choice, call it JEX1 (for Journal
entry extra 1). Etc.
2) BR III
Some of you have looked ahead to this assignment.  It involves doing a
critique of middle school mathematics curriculum materials. As preparation,
I want you to look over published critiques of curriculum materials, such
as in the Mathematics Teacher.  Each issue has a section at the end of the
journal that reviews books, software, ongoing projects, etc.  For example,
in the February 1999 issue, these reviews (critiques) are on pages 175-180.
I will give more guidance as to the kind of material to review as the time
gets closer.
