Research Project Presentations

Each student or pair of students is responsible for making a presentation to the class, explaining the topic which they have researched so thoroughly. Students are also expected to develop a class activity to incorporate into their presentations. Examples of activities have included teaching the class how to create a Serpenski Triangle, making and cutting Mobius Strips, and making spirolaterals out of student names. A typical presentation lasts about 10-15 minutes, and one per day has been scheduled (to keep students from getting restless during several in a row). Several students are using Power Point to enhance their presentations. The students are evaluated by both the teacher and their peers. Before each presentation six students are selected to evaluate the presentation using a teacher-designed rubric.
