  Assignment: Write paper (1 page) on and create or find representation of essence of mathematics; Survey read Kilpatrick framework (pages 3-7 only), read Silver, Lakatos, and a related historical perspective (from Kilpatrick citation) and a related current perspective. (Current literature includes articles from the 1990's to the present that are on the Internet or in print.)

Prepare a 5-minute first-person author presentation for the conference.

  Assignment: Write a position paper (2-4 pages) in response to a question provided. Survey read Kilpatrick framework pages 17-23, Read Moses et al., Bauersfeld, and other related historical AND current perspectives

Review at least one current mathematics textbook and analyze in terms of multiple perspectives related to one of our categories I - VIII.
