Course Expectations and Grade Requirements
The following weighting is proposed as a guideline:
Learn how to access resources through the UIUC library system (One class meeting in the library will be inserted into the schedule and the agenda moved ahead as appropriate.) Activity associated with library day: "Perspectives on Technology, Standards, Curriculum, and Testing in Mathematics Education: Where Do I Stand?" Read from suggested Internet or library holdings or select your own readings to determine a specific focus area of your choice. Read more extensively in this focus area and select at least 10 pertinent and different articles (or newsletters or 7-page sections of books) to inform and support a position paper. Include these readings in your APA style reference list. (You might read a bit about position papers as well.) Be prepared to report on at least one reading during the NEXT class meeting.
