Tues Oct 19
Please note: All of your work is to be web-based.
Come in for interviews: 20 min, go over your web page, your 20 or so
articles and the beginnings of your synthesis (as well as the outline for
the detailed presentation of piece of research).
Let me know if you do NOT know when you are to come in to my office next
Tues (Aki is coming in on Mon).
Tues Oct 26
No class. Continue work on identifying research articles and preparing
annotations. By Nov 2 you should have at least 25 articles identified,
with many of the annotations completed.
Also, by Oct 26, have five technical terms used in mathematics education
research, and their definitions (and resource for further information)
available in your folder available to Nick.
Please also note: All articles should be research articles. An article in
The Mathematics Teacher is not likely to be a research article. Nor are
the NCTM Standards a research reference. While based on research, the
standards are not in themselves research.

Format to use for technical terms:
Term:
Definition..yours, paraphrased from various sources.
For additional information: Give at least one technical reference. By
'technical' I mean a respected research source. The Handbook of Research
On Mathematics Teaching and Learning, or JRME are respected research
sources.
The New York Times is not (unless it cites a respected source).
Tues Nov 2. Meet in Room 10 Educ. Give presentation on your detailed
review of your selected piece of research.
