Instructor(s): Claran Einfeldt ,

Contact Person: Ms. Brenda Pacey
Assessment of educational progress is a major issue in ongoing reform initiatives, with assessment often driving reform. This course will review assessment strategies in Illinois, with an emphasis on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (SAT) and the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE). Attention will be paid to the goals of these assessments, their structure, their scoring rubrics and their use to enhance teaching and learning across the grades and subject matter areas. Participants will be expected to develop a project on assessment that can be used in their classrooms and/or school districts. Class meets June 24-July 5 (no class July 4), with additional course project due July 19.
