SUBSCRIBING TO THE LIST

There are two ways to join TEN-L:
A. Regular subscription: you receive every message that is sent to the listserv, message by message, as they are forwarded to the list
Subscribe by sending an email message to the listserv.
1. Send the message to:
ten-l@exploratorium.edu
2. Put the word SUBSCRIBE in the subject of the message. Anything in the body (main part of the message) will be ignored.
This should sign you up for the listserv and you should automatically receive an email welcome message. If you do not receive such a message within 24 hours, please contact: tenl-mod@exploratorium.edu.
B. Digest Subscription: Your address will be added to the list of subscribers who receive a digest instead of each forwarded message. You will be able to send messages to this list, and will receive a digest of accumulated messages once a day.
1. Send the message to:
ten-l@exploratorium.edu
2. Put the words SUBSCRIBE DIGEST in the subject of the message.
Anything in the body (main part of the message) will be ignored.
This should sign you up for the listserv and you should automatically receive an email welcome message. If you do not receive such a message within 24 hours, please contact:
tenl-mod@exploratorium.edu.
3. If you are already a regular subscriber to TEN-L, subscribing in the digest mode will automatically unsubscribe you from the regular mode.

SENDING A MESSAGE TO THE LIST

To send a message to all the subscribers on the list, email your message to:

UNSUBSCRIBING

You leave TEN-L by sending an email message to the listserv.
1. Send the message to:
ten-l@exploratorium.edu
2. Put the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject of the message. Anything in the body (main part of the message) will be ignored.
This should remove you from the listserv and you should automatically receive an email message confirming that you are no longer a member. If you do not receive such a message within 24 hours, please contact:
tenl-mod@exploratorium.edu.

RECEIVING DIGESTS

The listserv software creates a digest of each day's messages. This can be handy for new subscribers and who want to see what discussions have taken place before they subscribed.. To have the listserv send a list of available digests of older messages:
1. Send the message to:
ten-l@exploratorium.edu
2. Put the word DIGESTS in the subject of the message. Anything in the body (main part of the message) will be ignored.
3. You will receive a reply that will contain the names of digest files, organized by date. Create a reply to the message, keeping the original message in the reply. Place an "x" in the box before each digest that you want to receive. Make sure that the reply is going back to the ten-l list, and send the reply.
