to MST Day3 on April 27 to hear and see how it's done in practical
demonstrations with students at TCD. MST
Day is a cooperative project with the Office of Mathematics, Science, and
Technology Education (MSTE) at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign
and the Technology Center of DuPage (TCD) in Addison, Illinois.
Agenda
8:00-8:30 Coffee and registration
8:30-9:00 Overview of the day
9:00-10:00 Integrating the curriculum with Technology -
panel presentation
Participants will be teachers who have developed and
used technology-intensive curriculum materials that integrate mathematics,
science and technology.
10:00-11:00 Visit sites around TCD where
technology-intensive materials can be viewed and discussed with teachers and
students.
11:00-12:00 Lunch provided. Keynote speaker: Tom Prudhomme,
Senior Associate Director for Education at the National Center for
Supercomputing Applications (NCSA)
12:00-1:00 Mathematics and Science for All - panel
presentation
Teachers and administrators will share experiences
in using new approaches to the middle and high school curriculum that provide
opportunities for all students to learn substantial mathematics and science.
1:00-2:30 More tours of curriculum projects at
TCD.
2:30-3:00 Wrap up and discussion of next steps.
